How much child poverty exists in second families as a result of F/MEP action?
I always find it interesting how lawyers and support recipients are never able to admit they see any problems with the current system.
I was out of work, it was the beginning of the recession, I missed a couple payments, my baby daughter was screaming, teething – MEP had frozen my bank account and I could not even buy her Tylenol. How is that in the best interest of the child? My family was trying to deposit into my account so I could clear my arrears, but even that would not work. Finally I had to agree to pay more than I already could not afford for my account to be unfrozen. All the NSF fees racked up to over $400, my insurance got cancelled and I missed a mortgage and condo payment. This all lead to me eventually going bankrupt.
