I am a researcher into Parental Alienation and the Maintenance Enforcement Program’s failure to: tie access to Maintenance, adjust Maintenance to reflect the noncustodial parent’s true financial state destabilized by efforts to help his/her children (e.g., legal fees, job loss and stress leave), allow Maintenance as a tax break, make the custodial parent accountable for how Maintenance monies are used, make Maintenance part of declared income. These changes to the MEP program would be a huge step in reducing Parental Alienation and deception by alienators (who are most often mentally ill, vindictive, or fraudulent for monetary gain).
